The next point in TULIP is Unconditional Election. Unconditional Election is the doctrine that God's basis of saving individuals is not based on any merit of the individual, or based on any particular people group. (Eph. 1:4-8; Rom. 9:11)

You are correct, God is basically showing favoritism to some people. The thing is, it is not favoritism based on skin color, language, or how many good actions you may have done today, it is simply those God choose to save. Could God choose to save every single person? Yes, because Christ blood would have been sufficient for that, if that was God's will, but it wasn't. I don't pretend to know why God did not simply choose to save all mankind, but I know that He didn't, and He is 100% justified in doing that.
